Merry Christmas!!!!!

We will not have class again until the new year.  I will post new assignments on Jan. 3.

I would like to include some information concerning upcoming assignments. Christmas vacation may be a time for you to ignore ANYTHING school related or you may prefer to use the time getting ahead.
If you prefer to work on some during our Christmas vacation, I wanted to provide a little information.

THIS IS NOT REQUIRED and all of this information will be reposted when class is back in session.

Due Jan 8 - Multiple Intelligence Lesson Plan.
Template and Sample to follow.  Choosing just one idea (one square) from your Bloom/Gardner Grid, you will create a lesson plan.  If the topic of your grid is related to your upcoming capstone, then this lesson will be one of many in your capstone.  You may use the lesson format from the template and the sample or you may choose any lesson plan format you wish as long as it includes all the components of the template and sample. It should be saved as "Grid Your Name Fall 2" When complete, it gets email to me ([email protected] ).  It also should be posted on your website/blog.

Due Jan 15 - Rubric
We will create a rubric for one of the assignments in your Bloom/Gardner Grid.  It may a rubric for the lesson plan you just completed.  It may be a rubric for any other assignment in your Grid.  You may use any rubric generator to create your rubric, although I suggest Rubistar
Your rubric will be posted on your website/blog as well as emailing it to me.  Please label it "RubricYourNameFall2".  (Due Jan. 15)

Due Jan 22- Unit Plan
We will also create a Unit Plan.   Below is the template and a sample.   You have already brainstormed over 35 ideas (Bloom/Gardner Grid) and completed a lesson plan as well as this week's assessment rubric on one curricular area.  Let's use all of this information to create the Unit plan.  Hopefully, you have or will have additional projects to this unit plan from your other classes.  Feel free to include these other projects in your unit plan.  This unit plan will be an incredible jump start to your CAPSTONE.  Your capstone is MANY, MANY, MANY things but it is usually based around a curricular unit. (Your unit plan!!)  (Due Jan. 22)

Please feel free to call, text or email me if you have any questions.

I hope your holidays are blessed!!!

Last week, our assignment was to watch each multiple intelligence vodcasts created by each classmate.  Due to unfortunate and difficult life situations, two vodcasts were not completed in time.  I have added vodcasts from previous classes to cover the material missed.  The links to these vodcasts are on our facebook wall.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to understand all the multiple intelligences.  You are NOT responsible to comment on the interpersonal and intrapersonal vodcasts (from previous classes) but you are responsible to understand those intelligences.  You will need to have basic understanding of all intelligences to complete the class.
If the two missing vodcasts do show up in your google reader, you may, of course, watch and comment but it will not be required as we are moving on.

Multiple Intelligences Movie Night
Thanks to our fellow classmates, we have been introduced to all of the multiple intelligences.  Now, we will test how well we understand and can identify multiple intelligences in people (mostly our students).  This website has a separate blog, entitled Movie Night.  Please watch each video and use the document below (Multiple Intelligences in Life ..or movies) to record your thoughts and ideas.  If you would like to get together as a group meeting in a central location, you can work together to complete only one worksheet per group.

Multiple Intelligences
Special Guests .. Temple Grandin
Our special guest to share spatial intelligence is Temple Grandin. Temple Grandin gives a fanastic speech. She is a very successful woman who has autism.  Her speech is not only important to hear for your children with autism but she is an amazing visual learner. Her speech helps us understand how the mind of a visual thinker works. Please respond to the Temple Grandin discussion tab for this week.

(I strongly recommend the movie out on DVD. It was an HBO movie.) I believe EVERY mother and EVERY teacher should see this movie!! There will be an EXTRA CREDIT discussion topic for the movie if you choose to rent the movie and watch it!!  The extra credit will be available throughout the class so comment when you have seen the movie.

Upcoming Assignments
Due Dec 18 "Multiple Intelligences in Life ..or movies" worksheet.  This is really just a note taking exercise.  I want to see your impressions and how you have applied what you have learned about multiple intelligences.  This is not meant to be a formal assignment.

Due Dec 18– Bloom/Gardner Grid
Template and Sample can be found on last week's blog.  Hopefully, you have begun to fill in the squares already. Choose a unit of study that is broad enough to think of many activities to teach. If you have already decided on a capstone, use that topic. Fill in the squares using an activity that meets both the multiple intelligence and the level of Bloom’s Taxonomy in which it intersects. A sample has been provided n last week's blog.  I expect 90% or more of the grid to be completed.  It should be saved as "Grid Your Name Fall 2". You will post it on your blog and email it to me before midnight on Dec. 18.

Your first assignment is to watch and comment on every  vodcast.

There is a comment link on the top right of everyone's post.  For our next assignment, you will need to understand all of the multiple intelligences as well as Bloom's taxonomy.  Each vodcast should provide you with the basic understanding needed for the assignment.
