Next week, our final assignment is due.  The mutiple intelligence unit plan.  I have emailed you a template.

My youngest daughter had surgery today.  She was very brave and is healing well.  Please continue to work on your assignments.  See you next week.

We began the class by sharing a teaching strategy   known as "Reaching Consensus".  We looked at Tim Bedley's website and video examples of "reaching consensus" in his classroom.

Elena gave a presentation on assessments in the classroom.  Nick shared information on Digital media and its uses and importance in classroom. 
We spent the rest of the time learning about rubrics.  Information on rubrics can be read here. and here.  We also looked at Aunt Olive's rubric on rubrics to determine what a good rubric looks like.  Aunt Olive's rubric can be seen here.

Our assignment is to use a holistic-like rubric to assess our teaching using the Self Assessment Rubric.  I have emailed you a template for the Self Assessment Rubric and have also added it to this blog.  This assignment is due next week. (Oct 20th)

David and David will also present at our next class, Oct 27th.

Our next assignment will be to create a rubric for a student product.  This may be a product that is a result of your Multiple Intelligences Lesson Plan.  I have also added a template for you to use in this blog (Student Rubric).  This will be due Oct 27th.

Our last assignment for the class is to use our Bloom/Gardener Grid,  Multiple Intelligence lesson plan and Student Rubric to complete a unit plan.  A template has also been included.  We will go into more depth in our next class meeting to the finalization of our unit plan but I would suggest you begin working on it now.  Once again, a template has been included.  This will be due on Nov 3rd.
